ffective Leadership Practice Exists to be Shared, Modeled and Coached

As Michael Fullan (2009) states so clearly, a good theory of action travels well. Fullan offers great insight into how leaders can frame the challenges they face. He suggests combining action research with insight in order to gain the desired results in the organization. We see a strong connection between the challenging work of active superintendents and the notion of good theories of action to be studied by cohorts of superintendents around the country.

Peer Mentoring and Coaching - thereby improving our collective capacity to improve the schools we lead and share knowledge of what has worked in our schools with others

Challenge for leaders today is to be ready to lead when you enter the job. To address the needs today without strong coaching and mentoring is foolish at best.

We see an emerging awareness that a taxonomy of a great teacher or a great principal may help in the large scale implementation of school improvement.  How about we develop the taxanomy of great leadership in public education?
